Funding secured for Trident Park

Viridor has secured funding from its parent company Pennon for an Energy from Waste (EfW) Combined Heat and Power facility at Trident Park in Cardiff, and is due to begin construction in 2012. When completed, this essential facility will safely handle 350,000 tonnes of residual waste a year and provide enough electricity to supply the equivalent of 50,000 homes. Viridor

Incident at Sandfold Lane HWRC, Manchester

Sandfold Lane Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Levenshulme, Manchester is currently closed to the public due to a vehicle fire on site. Three engines from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service are currently in attendance to manage the incident.
