Viridor is pleased to confirm that Howard Ellard has been appointed to the Board of Viridor Limited as Business Development Director with effect from 1 January 2012.

He will lead Viridor’s business development team in line with the company’s strategic ambitions, especially in the winning of large contracts, the development of waste treatment infrastructure and overseeing future acquisitions.

The appointment reflects the continued growth of Viridor within the demanding sectors of recycling, renewable energy and waste and resource management.

This represents a fitting finale to Barrie’s highly successful fifteen years in this position with the company; other notable highlights include winning the Greater Manchester Waste PFI contract.  He will continue to work for Viridor on a part-time basis and will remain a Director of Viridor Laing (Greater Manchester) Ltd.
